Walking is an excellent way to improve the way your body looks. To maximize the workout of your calf muscles, put your heel down first and roll forward onto your toes. You can also work your arms. Bend your elbows and swing with every step.

Stay conscious of your posture when walking. Your shoulders should be back and your torso upright. Allow your elbows to fall at about a 90-degree angle. The right arm moves forward with the left foot and the left arm moves forward with the right foot. When you take a step forward, your heel should contact the ground first and proceed to roll through your foot toward your toes.

One simple way to increase your muscle mass is to lift lots of weight just a few times. Start by choosing a muscle group. Do a warm-up set by lifting weights that are easy to lift. A weight that allows you to perform 15 to 20 repetitions is about right. Then increase the weight so that you can only lift the weight 6-8 times. One the third set increase this weight by five pounds, doing the most reps you can.

Test out a bench before completing any real workouts on it. Use your thumb to test by pressing it into the top of the padding. If you can easily feel the wood or metal beneath the padding, choose a different bench.
